A road trip by two young women! And they are ill-starred drivers! And they resort to shortcut! What can you imagine about it? The scenario is spooky; a trucker harasses them; the highways are deserted, and the women mess up the situation in their anxiety.

Plot:

Anna Hutchinson and Andrea Whitburn, who are around the age of 20s, are best of friends, and they head to Southern California. This road trip proves to be a petrifying experience for the young women.

Analysis

Wreckers is an inspiration of Steven Spielberg's Duel. The script is terribly engrossing but director Bafaro stumbles; he could have presented the flick in a much better manner.

Star Performance

Anna and Andrea share a superb chemistry and their bonding despite their differences is commendable. We connect with them when they take the decision of separating for the sake of survival.
What's there?
1. Music is the highlight of the film. It complements with the mood of the flick.
2. The beautiful outdoor scenes are a pleasure to watch.
3. Certain scenes will keep you hooked to the seat.

What's not there?

1. The story is not sufficiently authentic.
2. The driving sequences could have been more engrossing.
3. When you get immersed in the film, it loses luster.
3. There is a sense of repetition throughout the flick.

Verdict

Watch it to get at least some scare, which is typical of this genre.
