Plot

The true story of Megan Leavey and her life as the U.S Marine corporal in the Military Police K9 handler unit, giving up on her original life. She got paired with a military dog named Rex, and they built a special bond for life. They both served two deployments together in Iraq. One was in 2005, Fallujah, and another in 2006, Ramadi, where they both received many awards for their bravery in saving multiple lives and heroism. After three years of military service, she left and wanted to adopt Rex with her as his time for retirement was close as well. But she got informed that Rex was not well for adoption, yet she kept trying to get him out of the military retirement house.

Star Performance                             

Kate Mara performs the role of Megan Leavey, and Varco as Rex got decently portrayed in this movie. The featured actors did a good job but could not connect with the audience deeply. 

Analysis                        

Megan Leavey was facing difficulties in her life, so she decided to work as a U.S Marine corporal and found Rex, who behaved poorly towards most people, but they were paired together for the operations. They formed a bond of friendship together, so even after her service, she wanted to be with Rex so that he might live a simple life. This movie portrays more about the unbreakable friendship between a dog handler and her dog. It is a loosely accurate depiction that will make the audience emotionally invested and experience loyalty, love, and friendship. It doesn’t have many plot twists or huge revelations but a more character-driven plot that follows the difficult life in military service.
