Plot

Justice League Mortal is inspired by DC comics. In Justice League Mortal superheroes team up for a joint mission, which is to defeat the villain Steppenwolf who plans on destroying the world. It starts with Batman reaching out to Wonder Woman to join him and help him carry out the mission. They both gather the superheroes to prevent Steppenwolf from destroying the world. Here, Batman and Wonder Woman were the leaders of the team, or rather, the group’s parents. Funnily enough, in one part, she even calls them children. At the end of the movie, they let Superman come in and save the day the way he usually does in most of his films. He weakens Steppenwolf while the rest of the team finishes him.  

Star Performance

Megan Gale did a great job at acting out the character Wonder Woman’s formidable personality.

Analysis

The eye-catching costumes in Justice League Mortal were impressive and so were the visuals. The choreography was also pretty good. However, the screenplay was too fast, and the runtime of Justice League Mortal was pretty long. The background music was electrifying. There was a lack in the development of the characters and the chemistry between them was lacking, however Cyborg’s background story was excellent and elaborate. The unique characteristics of each superhero were correctly portrayed. There were too many bland jokes in Justice League Mortal, but the character Flash improved the comical aspect of Justice League Mortal in numerous scenes with his funny personality. The scenes of Flash where everything else slows down was also extremely enjoyable to watch. However, the storyline is predictable and familiar, as is expected from most superhero movie plots. The overuse of CGI, especially on the villain is not appealing to watch because there is a contrast between the CGI villain in a primarily live action movie, so this made it look too animated when it’s supposed to be a live action movie. The villain was relatively weak for a villain, and his objective was also a bit too simple. His end goal was just to be able to speak to his mother. Of course, while causing havoc on Earth during the process.

What’s There?

• Plenty of action scenes.
• The fight scene between Superman and Wonder Woman was satisfying to watch.
• The music during the fight scenes was the best.

What’s Not There?

• Unimpressive villain
• Overuse of CGI

Verdict

It’s a good movie. None of the negative aspects are so unbearably bad that one must not watch it. Go ahead and watch it if you’re a fan of DC and Marvel, or a fan of the action, fantasy genre.
