Despite two back to back failures, Varun Tej is anything but disappointed. He is now focusing on another major project, ‘Matka’, whose shooting has begun recently.

Varun had last tasted success with the comic caper ‘F3’, which also starred Venkatesh, Tamannaah Bhatia Tamannaah Bhatia is a well known actress in Tamil >> Read More... and Mehreen Kaur Pirzada in the lead roles. The film had released in 2022, and earned more than 130 crores worldwide, becoming a critical and commercial success.

Since then, Varun has acted in only two films, ‘Gandeevdhari Arjuna’ and ‘Operation Valentine’. ‘Operation Valentine’ was based on the airstrikes post the Pulwama attacks, and also marked Varun’s debut in the Hindi film industry. However, due to unforeseen delays, the film was postponed multiple times to March 2024, and sank at the box office without a trace.
