, said that she has a strong connection with Bengal. Apart from speaking the language almost perfectly, the actress spends half her time in Kolkata. She says that her movies have also been instrumental in making the audience feel that the actress is Bengali. The actress who entered the World of Cinema with Bhaalo Theko in 2003, debuted in Bollywood with Parineeta, which was a Bengali film based in Kolkata. She went on to deliver one of her biggest hits “
Kahaani
” which was shot in Kolkata with more than ninety percent of the people on board as Bengali. The Bengal brands that she endorses have her voice as well. The actress says that the warmth that this city offers is something that brings her back to Kolkata time and again. She further says that the people talk to her in Bengali, and the smart actress flaunts her skills there- her fluency in the language make their belief stronger.
The actress is done with her shoot for Ribhu Dasgupta’s TE3N in Kolkata, and Sujoy Ghosh’s sequel of the commended thriller Kahaani will bring her back to the city once again. Be it films or otherwise, the connection has always stayed.
