Karni Sena and some other movements protest against the film stating that it distorts the history. They even stopped the shooting for some time by assaulting the director. The movements had also announced to behead the director and the heroine. Amidst all the issues, the director wrapped up the film and sent it for censoring. The censor board officers suggested some cuts and a name change. The director accepted it and changed the film title to “Padmavat.” The film had been banned from screening in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana. Now, the makers have filed a case in Supreme Court to lift the ban.
