Nawazuddin Siddiqui
was surprised by the response given to his “Raman Raghav” at the Cannes. The film received a standing ovation of 20 minutes at the Cannes International Film Festival. When he was interviewed by a leading daily, Nawazuddin was quoted saying, "I love the fact that a film is appreciated at the BO and gets critical acclaim in the festival circuit." Nawaz doesn’t show much interest in Hollywood films. He says, "I will have to go through the process of discovering the character inside me, similarly in the way that I am doing here. Doing international films is overrated. It is nothing more than a status symbol. If you are getting work abroad due to your talent, then it is great, but if you have to hire an agent and publicize your work abroad, then it is not worth it. If you have done a good job, your film will connect with all audiences, here or abroad." When asked about the three Khans in Bollywood, he said, "They don't carry their stardom with them. They are very down-to-earth."
