PN Ramachandra is a director who does not believe in making commercial films. His heart and soul are still in love with the idea of feature films with small budgets and talented actors. His last film Haal-E-Kangaal or The Bankrupts starred
Hemant Mahaur
and Niraj Shah in the lead roles. The 105 minutes long film revolves around the story of two friends Tripurari and Naresh, who meet after almost a decade and a half. The film is entirely shot in the director’s flat in Mumbai. The two friends get to talking and share the happenings of years they spent away from each other and one of the main topics is about their failure to make a film and establish themselves as filmmakers in the industry. The film wrapped up in 2015 itself and was screened at various film festivals in 2015 and 2016. It went down well with the critics, and Hemant Mahaur’s performance was also appreciated. The film turned out to be one of the best performances of the 40-year-old thespian’s acting career.
