It was Satyajit Ray’s 95th birthday yesterday, but along with this, 2016 marks the 50th year of the creation of the iconic detective Prodosh Chandra Mitra, fondly known as Feluda as well. At a meet held yesterday on the maestro’s birthday, his director son Sandip Ray announced the comeback of Feluda. He revealed that two of his father’s stories would be combined in one film. The two stories that are being considered are Sammaderer Chaabi and Golokdham Rahasya. The director also reveals that it will be a comeback for Sabyasachi Chakraborty, who has done several Bollywood films like Parineeta and Phantom too. Sabyasachi has been portraying Feluda for a long time after the legendary Soumitra Chattopadhyay set some massive standards for the same. After being the successful Feluda on screen for several years, it was Sandip Ray’s last venture Badsahi Aangti in 2014 when
Abir Chatterjee took over. Junior Ray says that since Abir plays a similar role named Byomkesh, to avoid identity crisis Sabyasachi is being brought back. The film is supposed to hit the floors by August and scheduled to be released on Christmas this year. Ray followers and Feluda fans will be eagerly waiting for this one.
