Latif Kapadia was born on 27th March 1934 in Nashik, a city in the British-India province of Maharashtra, and he is of Gujarati ancestry. His parents are from the Gujarati village of Abrama, which is close to Navsari. At 13, Latif Kapadia moved to Karachi with his family to begin his theatrical acting career. Kapadia started his acting career in 1953. Kapadia began performing with the Avant-Garde Arts Theatre a few years later. In 1967, he began working with Pakistan Television on television plays.
