Shahrukh Husain is a well-known Urdu story writer who writes works of fiction and non-fiction for grownups and children. She also writes screenplays and the occasional play. Shen was born on 28 April 1950. She is also a psychiatrist, therapist, folklorist, and storyteller. She is a Pakistani who resides in London with her husband, two children. She is a member of the Royal Literary Fund. She has written screenplays for In Custody, taken from the novel of the same name by Anita Desai.

She has also written an episode for Beecham House. She has written books like A Restless Wind, The Goddess: Power, Sexuality, and the Feminine Divine, Handsome Heroines, and Daughters of the Moon: Witch Tales from Around the World. Presently she is working on a historical screenplay for Bend It Films and finishing a series of folklore books for children.
