Ali Sohail Jaura

Ali Sohail Jaura is also known as Ali Sohail. He was born on March 22, 1994, in Karachi, Pakistan. He is an independent filmmaker. With a focus on visual narrative, Ali has investigated various visual mediums, including short films, documentaries, and commercial ad films. His tourist short film "Arz e Pakistan" (Land of Pakistan), which is centered on the Northern Regions of Pakistan, went on a winning streak and won 15 accolades globally in 2018, which marked a significant turning point for him. Additionally, it was broadcast exclusively on "Ads of the World" in 2019. He just earned the award for "Best International Short Film" at the 11th Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival 2021.

His short film “Dry Leaves”, has an Official Selection in a total of 35 international film festivals. Ali and his partners established Wide Angle Films in 2018, a business that specializes in commercial films and branded communications with a clear focus on storytelling and an out-of-the-box approach to brand creation. Because it has launched several successful campaigns in just two years and has been featured on numerous local, regional, and international brand-related platforms, including Best Ads (India), Aurora (Dawn Group Pakistan), and Campaigns of the World, the company has received favorable reviews from the Pakistani advertising industry.
