Farhan Alam, cinematographer by profession, is from Pakistan. He pursued his diploma in Film and TV production at the Los Angeles City College, USA. His father is Shah Alam, a cinematographer and one of the pioneers of television and film in Pakistan. Farhan Alam has been actively involved in the Pakistani film industry for more than 15 years. His passion for cinematography and celluloid began at an early age. His love for photography and motion pictures was inspired by his father. He started his career by working as an assistant cameraman.Â

In 2010, his short film calendar was officially selected in the New York Film Expo. In the same year, he was nominated for the Best Cinematographer award for a television blockbuster named Dastan, which aired on Hum TV.Â
He is not only a cinematographer, but he has proved himself as a director through his film Saawan in 2017, which won many awards, including Best Film and Best Director awards in the Social World Film Festival 2017, Best Foreign Language Film award in Madrid International Film Festival 2017, and best music and best film award in Salento International Film Festival 2017, Tricase. Also, another film, Allahu Akbar aha No Regrets, won the best picture award at the Salento International Film Festival in 2019.
