Sana Jafri is a Director, Producer, and Casting Director based in Pakistan. Sana graduated from the National College of Arts in 2018 with distinction with a major in painting. Her paintings are usually about unconventional topics that confront and dissect cultural, political, and social opposites. The story revolves around a young boy who takes up a job as a back dancer and eventually finds himself attracted to a trans woman who runs the show. For her work on this movie, she won the Jury Prize in Un Certain Regard Category, and Queer Palm Award, and the Indie Wire Spirit Award in 2022. She has served as an assistant and casting director on a film called Darling by Saim Sadiq which won Best Short Film at the 76th edition of the Venice Film Festival.

The movie is programmed for the world premiere in June 2024. It is a co-production between a CXIMPLE production, Nuqta Films, and Jafri’s Company. ‘Yasmeen’s Element,’ starring Eeshal Fatima, Abeera Rubab, and Nazir Ahmed Bulbul, is a story about a young girl who, after losing her homework in the winding paths of her mountain town, sets off alone to discover her teachers. Jafri attended the Rotterdam Producers Lab as an emerging producer from Pakistan with her debut feature Scattered Rain in January 2022.
