Izhar Qazi was a famous Pakistani film and television actor and playback singer. He was born on September 15, 1959, in Karachi’s Khada Market area. He completed his graduation from SM College Karachi and later gave his MA Economics examination from Karachi University in First Division and passed an LLB from SM Law College Karachi. In his early days of employment, he used to work in Pakistan Steel Mill as an admin manager. His luck turned around when, at a wedding party, the famous TV writer Fatima Suraya Bijaya discovered a new hero in him. She invited him for an audition, and ultimately this was the reason for his appearance on television.
If we talk about his TV career, Izhar worked in a few dramas, like the drama serial “ Anna Anna is a serial about an extra-marital affair. The director of “Anna”, Nazar Shabab, was impressed with his work, so he later signed him with Sabita and Geeta Kumari for his film ‘Ruby.’ The film’s success opened the door for him in the film industry. His film Ruby was released in 1986; his first film, ‘Bangkok KeChor,’ was also released with director Jan Mohammad. His third film, ‘Luan Nepal’ (directed by Wazir Ali), was released in 1987. Again in the same year, his debut Punjabi film ‘ Dulari Story coming soon >> Read More... ’ was released, and the audience liked his duo with actress Anjuman. Later in 2002, his other Punjabi film, Bali Jetty, was released and achieved remarkable success. During his end years of the film industry, from 2004-to 2005, his movies ‘Daman Aur Changari’ and ‘Parcham’ were released. After that, he said goodbye to the film industry and started his own business because the Pakistani film industry began to decline, and non-standard films started to be made.
Izhar Qazi also had a good voice; his singing talent landed him two audio cassettes released by Sonic Company and Eagle Company. He also did his radio program named ‘Sialkot Ke Awaz’ from Radio Pakistan Sialkot, which was very popular. During his career, he played central and supporting roles in more than 50 films and was a two-time recipient of the prestigious Nigar Award. Unfortunately, on September 24, 2007, Qazi was rushed to the hospital due to cardiac arrest, where he passed away, leaving his illustrious career behind.
