Nimal Jayasinghe is a talented and versatile artist, known for his exceptional work as an actor, director, screenwriter, and educator. In films such as August Sun (2003), he portrayed the character Duminda, delivering a captivating performance. Another noteworthy film credit is Machan (2008), where he skillfully portrayed the character Vijith. In How I Wonder What You Are (2010), Nimal displayed his acting as KK. He also impressed audiences with his role as Suraj in Thanha Rathi Ranga (Between Yesterday and Tomorrow) (2014). Additionally, Nimal has contributed as a screenplay writer for the upcoming film Rizana ('Deviyange Diyaniya' (God's Daughter)).

His involvement extends to television, where he has made significant contributions as a screenwriter. He showcased his skills in series such as Ahasin Watuna (2006), Appachchi (2013), and Weeraya Gedara Awith (2019). In the acclaimed series Sahodaraya (2017), Nimal not only wrote the screenplay but also took on the role of director. He continued his screenwriting journey with series like Thara (2020), Sathya (2020) - where he also directed and made a cameo appearance, and Jeevithayata Idadenna (2020).His passion for the arts extends to theatre as well. He has played various significant roles in theater productions as a co-director, scriptwriter, costume designer, and stage production member.

Notable productions include Gladiator Premaya (Gladiator Love) (2011), Rahas Udaviya (2012), and Dolahak (Twelve Angry Men) (2012). He has also been involved in stage productions such as Gamarala Diviya Loketa (Gamarala Going to Heaven) (2014) and Ratmalee (Little Red Riding Hood) (2014). In 2021, he made his mark as an actor in the theater production titled Vikurthi. Nimal has partnered with renowned actress Kaushalya Fernando to establish a diploma theater program under the Lanka Children's and Youth Theatre Foundation (LCYTF). This program provides aspiring individuals with the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals in acting, scriptwriting, directing, and dance theater. Its primary aim is to nurture creative artists and provide a platform for their growth and development.
