Nilmini Tennakoon is also known as Nilmini Thennakoon, Her full name is Thennakoon Pathiranalage. She was born on January 23, 1965. Nilmini Tennakoon’s place of birth is Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Nilmini Tennakoon began acting on the school stage when she was in grade seven in the 1980s. She studied dancing under Deshamanya Vajira Chitrasena, who is a veteran Sri Lankan traditional dancer, teacher, and choreographer. Nilmini Tennakoon portrayed the role of Tikiri Menika in the serial “Handewa,” directed by Sherly P. Delankawala, for which she earned the Raigam Tele’es award for Best Actress. In 2015, she won the Best Supporting Actress award at Sumathi Awards for her performance in Girikula.
