Nilmini Thennakoon is a Sinhalese actress popular for her serials and shows. Nilmini Thennakoon's real name is Thennakoon Pathiranalage Nilmini. She was born on 23 January 1965 in Moratuwa, a human settlement in West Sri Lanka. She is popular with the name Nilmini Thennakoon. Nilmini Thennakoon and Madhumadawa Aravinda have a daughter named Swetha Madakini. In the 1980s, Nilmini Thennakoon acted in the school from grade 7 and learned dance under Mrs Vajira Chitrasena. Under the guidance of radio artist Chitra Kuneri Kolubowila she also performed a ballet Sasara staged at Rupavahini. She also participated in the reality program Hiru Mega Stars leading the Shakyans, hosted a psychology television program Sith Ginon Hala telecasted by TV Derana.
