Kapila Pugalaarachchi is a music director who experiments with various musical styles in his creations. He received his education at Ananda College in Halawatha. He started his musical journey by playing instruments such as the melodic and trumpet. In 1984, he joined the Spectrum Music band led by Sarath Fernando. He directed music for several stage dramas such as Ira Yata, Mata Wedi Thiyanadda, Adara Wasthuwa. At 1992 Youth Awards Ceremony, he was honored with the award for best drama music direction for Sakwa Dahawala. In 2001, he won the prize for the best music director for the stage drama Wardi Watahim. He also composed music for Ashoka Handagama’s award-winning films Vidu and Iniyavan.
