Pubudu Chathuranga is a well-known actor from the Sri Lanka cinema and television industry. He is also a model, TV presenter, and screenwriter. His birthdate is 12 November 1982. His birthplace is Kithulampitiya, Galle, Sri Lanka. His mother's name is Lalitha Indrani Weththasinghe, and his father's name is E.V.G. Somasiri. His sister is Dushthanthi Thamodini. Pubudu studied at Richmond College, Galle. Later, he moved to Colombo for higher Education. He did a Higher National Diploma in Engineering from  Colombo. During his school days, Pubudu performed in various dramas and plays like Mahadana Muththa and Julius Caesar. He also made his theatre group in class 12 and performed in theatrical productions like Miriguwa and Histhanak. Pubudu began his career on the stage show Trojan Kaanthavo, directed by Dharmasiri Bandaranayake. His notable Tv serials are Samanala Kandawura directed by Prof. Ariyarathna Athugala, Sara (2006) One Way (2016), Bindunu Sith (2012), Devliye (2017), Aaliya (2021), Sudde (2019), Lokkaiya (2007), Modara Walla (2017), Namak Nati Minisa (2011), Gajamuthu (2008) and many more. He received the Best Actor Award from Raiganm Telees for his role in One Way.

In 2004, he entered the film industry with the debut comedian movie Hiripoda Wassa. As a TV presenter, he worked in the Suddi, Kassiwatta, Modarawella Sikurada, a musical chat on Derana TV. He has also hosted the Hiru Golden Awards. Pubudu received various awards, such as the 31st Sarasaviya Award for the movie Hiripoda Wassa in 2006, the SIGNIS Award for the film Kanyavi in 2009, and the 19th Presidental Award for the film Maya 3D as a Best Actor in Comedy Role in 2016.in 2012, he received Best Actor Derena Film Awards for the film Challenges.
