Dinesh Subasinghe is a famous Sri Lankan music composer born on 10th July 1979 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He went to St Peter's College in Colombo and Maris Stella College in Negombo. Soon, he joined Stanley Peiris' orchestra as a composer. For nearly eight years, he worked for Premasiri Khemadasa and led his opera Agni for a year. Dinesh has been married to Dulani, since 2021.

Dinesh Subasinghe started composing independently in 2004, when he was offered to compose music for the television series Hummane. In 2009, he learnt some music techniques from AR Rahman’s KM Conservatory in Chennai. He won the Best Student Award at the KM Conservatory for playing Violin exceptionally well. Dinesh ran a rock band, Dee R Cee, and introduced rock music to the TV series in Sri Lanka. Despite being a Sri Lankan, he was one of the members of the South Indian Cinema Musicians Union. Ravanahatha is an instrument, which is believed to have been used during the period of the King Ravana. Dinesh used the instrument for his album Rawana Nada in 2007. He also used another ancient instrument, Kingiri.

Dinesh composed music for movies, including Ho Gaana Pokuna, WarigaPojja, Dr. Nawariyan, Yugathra, Guththila, and Sri Siddha. In 2009, Dinesh won an award for the Best Music Score for Siri Sirimal, at the SIGNIS Awards. In 2012, he won the award for the Best Music Score at the Sumathi Awards for Pinsara Dosthara.
