Nino Jayakody is an actor working in the Sri Lankan entertainment industry. He was born as Nino Araliya Jayakody. Nino lives in Matale. Nino went to St. Thomas College in Matale. Initially, Nino wished to become a model and entered the modelling industry. Later, he joined the acting academy run by Mahendra Perera. He was there in the academy from 2003 to 2010. Geetha Kanthi Jayakody, the veteran actress, suggested Nino meet 2 assistant directors who helped him gain a small role in TV dramas. During his acting training in Mahendra Perera’s academy, he performed in the stage play Thathagatha Kolama in 2007. It was a popular stage drama that gained huge attention.
Nino had also worked with director Prasanna Vithanage in his drama Akasa Kusum. His cinema debut came with the film Machan, directed by Uberto Pasolini. While attending the audition for Machan, he was working for the teledrama ‘Sadgunakaraya’ directed by Asoka Athaudahetti. In 2009, he played the lead role in the film Nino Live. Thisara Imbulana directed the film. Along with Nino, many stars made their debut with this film. Dasun Pathirana, Umali Thilakaratne, Yureni Noshika, Chandani Seneviratne, Bandula Vithanage, Kingsley Ratnayake, Steve De la Zilwa, and Ruchi Dissanayake shared the screen space with Nino in Nino Live. Nino’s popular dramas are Ruwan Maliga, A/L Iwarai, Kolam Kuttama, and Ran Muthu.
