Chandani Seneviratne

Hewakokawela Chandani Seneviratne, popular by her screen name Chandani Seneviratne, is an amazing Sri Lankan actress who has worked in Sri Lankan cinema, television, and theatre. Chandani Seneviratne was born on December 28, 1962. She has completed her high school studies at St. Paul’s Girls School, Milagiriya. Chandani Seneviratne is one of the most impressive actresses in Sinhala cinema and has also worked as a presenter on television. Chandani Seneviratne started her career with her first debut in “Sathi puja” in 1985 as a theatre artist, for which she won the Presidential Award. After that, she made her delightful career by working on more than 45 Tele dramas and 30 films.

She got most popularized by working in the film industry in films like Burning Birds (as Sumana), Goal (as Mrs. Samrasekara), August Drizzle, A Level (as a Lawyer), and Thaala (as a doctor); she made an impressive place in her fans heart, apart from that, she has played so many roles in different movies, such as Sulagna (2005), Sewwandi (2006), Aganthukaya (2007), Uppalawanna (2007), Heart FM (2008), Ira Handa Yata (2009), Vidhu (2010), Kusa Pabha (2012), Siri Parakum (2013), Mage Yalu Malu (2015), Nino Live (2017), Davena Vihagun (2018), Cinema (2022) and more.

Chandani is a receiver of a Dubai International Film Award for Nikini Wessa (2012) as best actress award, Presidential Award for the best supporting actress- Sathi Puja (1984), Sarsaviya Award for Best Actress, and SIGNIS Gold Award for Creative acting in Udu Gan Yamaya (2006), and Presidential Award and SIGNIS Special Merit Award for Sulagna (2006), Lanka Live Award and Hiru Golden Film Award for Best Actress in Nikini Wessa (2012) and SIGNIS Award for Most Creative Supporting Actress in Kusa Pabha (2013) from that she has a wonderful journey in film industries and cinema.
