Dasun Pathirana

Dasun Pathirana is a renowned Sri Lankan model and award-winning actor in Sinhala television, theatre, and cinema. He was born on 26 July 1985 in Colombo, Sri Lanka and completed his schooling from a local school. Dasun went to Carley College in Colombo for further studies. He later joined Mahendra Perea's Academy of Acting and Drama in 2004 to study the aspects of acting and drama. Dasun has a younger sister, Deshani, born in 1996. He is married to Nadeesha Hansi Dissanayake and has two daughters, Shaiya Lily Pathirana and Shaya Lily Pathirana. Dasun Pathirana started his career in theatre and stage drama in 2002.

At the beginning of his career, Dasun performed in several Sri Lankan stage dramas, teledramas, commercial advertisements, films, and music videos. He received his first award for Best Upcoming Actor for his excellent role in a teledrama, Ahasin Watuna. Dasun worked on several projects as cameo roles in Sinhala cinema. In 2007, he appeared first time in the film industry with a short drama by Nuwan Jayathilake, Rock and Cracks. He played several uncredited roles in the movies like Nil Diya Yahana (2008), Heart FM (2008), How I Wonder What You Are (2010), Matha (2012), and Train To Kandy (2012).

Dasun Parithana played his first lead role in Visakesa Chandrasekaram's romance drama, Frangipani, released on 20 September 2014. He appeared opposite Jehan Sri Kanth, Dasun Pathirana, and Yasodha Rasanduni. This movie has screened at platforms like Tasveer, the ninth Annual Seattle South Asian Film Festival and BFI Flare LGBT Film Festival.
