Jagath Muthukumarana is a movie and theatre actor in the Sinhala entertainment industry. He is also a playwright, director, and television script writer and director. He also writes for children. He was born and brought up in Dikwella and settled in Maharagama, Sri Lanka. He is married and has a son, Thusara Muthukumarana.
Jagath started his career as a dramatist in 1977. He became a member of an open-air street drama outfit run by Dr. Gamini Hattotuwa. In 2008, he celebrated his 30 years as a dramatist with the stage play Aang Devpura. In 2009, he performed in the stage play Eka Adhipathi with Bandaranayake, Rajiv Ponweera, and Swethekei Munasinghe. The play was first staged in 1976 and celebrated its 33 years in 2009. In 2010, he performed in Makarakshaya, a political satire play by Dharmasiri Bandaranayake. He shared the stage with
