Uddika Premarathna is a Sri Lankan actor and singer. He was born on September 16, 1980, in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. He completed his studies at St. Joseph’s College Anuradhapura. He is married to Anusha Kumari Pannala. He is also a television announcer and former member of Parliament. His debut film as an actor was Mahindagamanaya(2011). He got a chance to act in the lead role in Samanala Sandhawaniya(2013). In this movie, he played the role of Vadisha Wikramanayaka. He was nominated for ‘most popular actor’ in 2014. He also got ‘best actor award’ in 2014. He played the role of King Dutugemunu in the blockbuster film Maharaja Gemunu. This movie also won the title of ‘Most Popular Movie’ in 2016. He did a historical film, Aloko Udapadi, in 2017. In this movie he played the role of King Walagamba. He played the role of Samath’s disabled father in the movie Paha Samath. He also worked in the action film Rush in 2019. He sang songs like Adare Kalath, Nethu Addara, Mage Wela Mage and Dase Kalman.
