Mamta Joshi is a Punjabi Singer. Born in Chandigarh, she completed her education at Guru Nanak Dev University, from where she obtained her Post Graduate degree in English and Music. She is also a Sufi Singer. In 2015, she was awarded the ‘Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar’ of Sangeet Natak Akademi, which is an autonomous institute under the ministry of culture, Government of India, recognizing her talent in the field of Sufi Music and folk music of Punjab. She also works as an assistant professor in Chandigarh. She also sings in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi as well as other locally known languages of India.
