Inderjit Hasanpuri, born Inderjit Singh Kharal, was a well-known songwriter, lyricist, producer, and writer from Punjab, India. He was born in Akalgarh village of modern-day Ludhiana district to father Jaswant Singh Kharal and mother Bhagwan Kaur, on August 20, 1932. He began his career as a painter and worked out of a storefront near to the Naulakha Theatre in Ludhiana. He began writing poetry and songs as a passion when he was a little boy.
