Sardar Sohi, also known as Parmjeet Singh Sohi, was born in Tibba, Sangrur, Punjab, India, on November 26, 1949. His mother's name is Savroop Kaur, and his father's name is Shiv Dev. Sardar Sohi has predominantly worked as an actor, comedian, screenwriter, and dialogue writer in the Punjabi and Hindi language film sector. Sardar Sohi is a Sikh from Mumbai, India. Sardar Sohi started his career in the Punjabi film sector with a film named Long Da Lishkara, released in 1986. He is well known for the movie Ardaas (2017), Lishkara (1983), Baghi, Seep (2021), Pyasi Nigahen (1990), Khel Takdeeran De (1995), Singh vs. Kaur (2013), Jamraud (2021), and many more.

Sardar Sohi left his B. Sc degree during 2nd year at Mustuana Sahib and Khalsa College in Amritsar, Punjab, India, and relocated to Mumbai, where he learned his acting.
