Swastik Choudhury is a native of Rourkela mini cosmopolitan town in the eastern Indian state of Odisha. After completing his formal education at St Paul's School. He actively participated in the two college magazines, one literary and one technical, and was a part of the editorial board for both. He is involved with different types of cultural activities and sports, therefore his interaction with varied categories of people will provide him with an opportunity to learn more. He found his calling only when he started a film club for his organization but not so since the beginning. has greatly inspired him and started making an independent film themselves, taking the production handles and also an actor-enacting some important characters according to the script. He has produced several independent productions under his production banner Swastik Arthouse He wants to see Odia cinema being famed worldwide.
Some of his works include 'Capital I', 'Khyanika-The Lost Idea', Runanubandha – The He Without Him, 'And Adieu Godard'. Each of these has been well received and gained commendations and accolades with a global outreach. As an actor, he has recently played the character of a psycho painter in the Odia crime thriller anthology film – FOUR directed by Abhishek Swain. In addition to that, Swastik acted and produced widely acclaimed short films – 'Hoyto Kobitar Jonyo' (2018) and 'Niloye Jokhon' (2012) which went to several festivals. Till now, all his films have been released in numerous International film festivals around the world such as the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), Dhaka International Film Festival, Bangladesh, and many more.
