Rajesh Payal Rai is a Nepalese singer, songwriter and actor. He has written an immense number of songs for the Nepali music industry. Rajesh Payal Rai was born on September 30, 1976, in Khotang district, Nepal. Rai is well-known as “Rai is King”. As a playback singer, he has done over 1000 songs and released individual albums over the decades. In 1993, he first released the song “Failiyo Maya Dubo Saree”. His song became instantly famous and earned some recording opportunities. His notable albums are Darshan Namaste, Rai is King, Kamana, Jadau, Just For You, Nigah, Asewaro, Baiguni Rahechau Mayale, Love Letter, Syamuna and many more.
Shifting from his genre, Rai also sang folk songs in his two albums Jadow and Jadow 2. The multi-talented artist also recorded Japanese and Bhojpuri songs. Rai travelled to various countries to sing his songs and represent his nation. He travelled to Hong Kong, South Korea, Australia, Singapore, Australia, Japan, the UK, the USA and many more. He earned several awards in his 20 long years of career from 1995 to 2015. He was one of the 365 Napali artists who made a world record in the project Melancholy. It was an environmentalist song written and composed by Nitesh DHAKA, an environmentalist. The song broke the Guinness World Record.
