Binod Chaudhary is a successful entrepreneur from Nepal. He is a versatile businessman, politician and philanthropist. He was born on 14 April 1955 in Kathmandu, Nepal to a Marwari family. He is married to Sarika Chaudhary and has three children. He is the chairman of the Chaudhary Group. He was >> Read More... . He is highly admired for the teachings of Nelson Mandela, who is the former President of South Africa and fought hard to bring freedom to his country. He is also a great admirer of J R D Tata for building a company of rare positions. In 2013, he earned the recognition of being Nepal’s wealthiest person and the only billionaire with a net worth of around one billion dollars which rose to 1.7 billion in further years.

He has done charity work also along with book writing and filmmaking. In 2015, he was honoured by Sri Sri University for his contribution to philanthropy and received an honorary doctorate. In 2016 he received the Asian Man of the Year Award and was also awarded Frost and Sullivan Growth, Innovation and Leadership Award. In 2019 he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Hotelivate. He started his first independent business in 1973 which was a discotheque company called Copper Floor. It was a huge success as many wealthy and powerful people visited the club. In 1979 he made a deal with Japanese electronic firm National Panasonic which was the first multinational deal. In 2017, he joined the Nepali Congress Party led by Sher Bahadur Deuba.

He was a member of the parliament of Nepal, representing the Communist Party of Nepal – Unified Marxist Leninist. He was a UML lawmaker. He has written his biography Binod Chaudhary: Atmakatha. Which was translated into English by journalist Sanjeev Ghimire and was titled Binod Chaudhary – My Life: From the Streets of Kathmandu to a Billion Dollar Empire. It was released in India under the name Ek Unchi Udaan He is known for his charity work in April 2015 Nepal earthquake, where he organized various relief efforts in Kathmandu.

He donated more than 2.5 million dollars to help to rebuild schools and homes and donated around 500,000 packets of Wai Wai noodles, thousands of juice cartons and food and water. He owns a charity house namely Chaudhary Foundation, which has signed the United Nations Development Programme for the promotion of Sustainable Development Goals in Nepal. His charity house played a great role during an earthquake in Nepal and handed over 166 shelters for victims to the Kumpur Village Development Committee in Dhading. He is a man with great vision and a big heart.
