Baldev Salotra, born on 4th November 1951, is an Indian producer and writer working predominantly in the Hindi and Punjabi theater, television, and film industry. He is also known as Baldev Singh Salotra and hails from the Gurdaspur district in Punjab. He is a graduate. Baldev Salotra has been the president of the Kapurthala-based cultural club Pir Punjab. He was the founding member of the Jalandhar-based Sirjana Socio-Cultural Society. He is married. Baldev Salotra is best known for working as a program producer on the national television channel Doordarshan. He joined Doordarshan National in 1985 and is best known for being the program producer of the 2008 Doordarshan devotional series Guru Manyo Granth.
He has also produced several plays, telefilms, musicals, and documentaries. Baldev Salotra was the producer of two feature films in Hindi- Kar Bhala Ho Bhala and Kaise Kaise Rishtey. Baldev Salotra has penned the lyrics of numerous Punjabi and Hindi songs over his career in the entertainment industry. He has written stories for several plays, documentaries, and short films. Baldev Salotra is the recipient of the Best Production Producer award for his work at the Doordarshan channel. He is a retired employee of Doordarshan Kendra, Jalandhar.
