Shivmurti is a story writer cum novelist. He was born on 11th March 1950 in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He went to M.G.S. Inter College Sultanpur. Shivmurti settled in Lucknow.
Some of his works include Agam Bahai Dariyav, Kasaibada, Siri Upma Jog, Kesar Kasturi, Trishul, Darpan, Aakhri Chalang, and Kuchi Ka Kanoon. Kasaibada has been translated into many languages, and it was adapted into a feature film, too. It was also staged more than 5000 times. Tiriya Charittar is one of his works, and it was shot as a feature film by Basu Chatterjee.
In 2002, he received Kathakram Samman. In 2020, Shivmurti received Shrilal Shukla Smriti IFFCO Sahitya Samman. His work Agam Bahai Dariyav gained him with Shreshta Kruthi Samman 2024, and he was honoured by the President of India, Draupati Murmu. He also received Hans Puraskar, Shrujan Samman, and Awadhbharati Samman.
