Ragini Shetty

Ragini Shetty was one of the first commoners in season 12 of the Indian version of Big Brother, Bigg Boss. She stayed in the Bigg Boss house for two months. Her real name is Abhijatha Umesh. She was sent inside the house as a model and the purpose is to spy on what happens in the Bigg Boss house. She faced a lot of problems in the house and got depressed. Her parents don’t want her to stay inside the Bigg Boss house in a depressed state, and hence they spent money to vote for her eviction. Abhijatha had stated that she had been an alien in the Bigg Boss house. After coming out, she started to cope-up with life and studied filmmaking at New York Film Academy. 

After completing her course, she launched a production house in Chennai, Szerelem Productions. Before starting her life as an entrepreneur, Abhijatha ended her life on 3^rd May 2014. The reason for her death is not known, and it was not reported to the media. However, before signing off from the world, Abhijatha has penned a final note on her Facebook page. Here it is: “When life doesn't go the way we want...is because deep down we know that we are settling for something we never asked for..it's like an equation..an effort put to the right direction that synchronizes with the way we have imagined our life, to the path we choose...and then our ego comes in and our attachment to things that stray us away from our true desire...making us choose a path that shapes our life that we never wanted. So watch your thoughts and stay true.” After her death, her friend Kristine Zedek wrote an emotional note on her social networking page. She posted, “I dedicate this song for my beautiful friend who is no more with us. Abhijata…you were all about love, giving, sharing, being so generous, and encouraging. Your honesty and warmth will always be cherished. I’ll miss you more than you’ll ever know. Hope you know how much you were loved by everyone. May your beautiful soul rest in peace. You will always be beautiful in my eyes!”
