R. S. Vikal

R. S. Vikal is an Indian Actor, Theatre Activist, and Director. He was born on 14th March 1952 in Delhi, India. His birth name is Rispal Singh Vikal, or "Vikal." He has been married to Sunita Vikal since 1979 and has three children. Vikal was also a Director of Doordarshan, a famous 20th-century Indian news and opera channel. Currently, in Mumbai, R. S. Vikal hosts a theatre workshop known as the "Virat Kalodbhav."

It is a cultural society that aims to promote various art forms such as drama, painting, music, miming, handicrafts, and pottery. It primarily focuses on lost folk arts that have suffered disappearance at the hands of modern technology. He is also the founder of Virat Acting Lab, Mumbai, India. He has directed plays like "Hum Honge Aazad Ek Din." He directed a Hindi feature film named "Cheti Ka Poster" in 1987 and received awards for Best Film and Best Director at the Women's Film Festival by the Indian Forum of Progressive Film. The film "Kokh,' directed by him, received a nomination for best actress and the film received praise at the Penang International Film Festival 1997 in Malaysia.
