She has a brother named Samyak Singh, who is a singer and songwriter. Being a bright student from a young, Prashashti successfully topped her tenth board exams in her district, Amethi. For her higher education, she moved to Delhi and did her schooling at Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram. Given a chance to choose between Metallurgy in IIT Roorkee and Electronics and Communication in Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Prashashti opted for NSIT in Delhi. Besides academics, Prashasti Singh also took care of the choreography society and Cultural Team of NSIT. After her graduation, Prashashti worked as an Analyst for a couple of companies in Bangalore and Hyderabad.

In 2012, she enrolled herself in the Indian Institute of Management in Lucknow to pursue her Master’s in Business Administration. Later in 2014, Prashashti Singh moved to Mumbai and started working under Star India as Assistant Manager in Marketing side for Life OK Channel. Further, she got posted as the Category Head of Star India. Prashashti Singh’s journey with comedy began when she took an improv class on “break the monotony of corporate life” and somehow ended up with her first open mic show in 2017. Prashasti became a part of the group The Etceteras and took part in several stand-up competitions in Mumbai. Following this, she got approached by the makers of the Amazon Prime Video’s stand-up comedy show Comicstaan season one. Hesitant at first, but still, she attempted the auditions and got selected as one of the top ten contestants of the show.

Prashashti Singh’s performance throughout the show garnered great positive reviews, and she quite soon became a well-known face with the internet audience. She got selected as the top five contestants for the title with high scores. With her brilliant performance, Prashashti Singh became the second runner-up of the show. Following the success, she quit her job to pursue stand-up comedy full time. She traveled around the country to perform programs and became a star in no time. Prashashti Singh has been a part of the MX Player info-comedy series Kiski Sarkar and the Netflix show Ladies Up. She also amazed the audience by showing her story-telling talent in Spoken Fest 2019. She hosted a couple of episodes of the Netflix show The Brand New Show.
