Karthik Mahadev is an Indian Chief Marketing Officer at Zee Entertainment Enterprise Limited. He took his secondary education from Loyola High School, Jamshedpur from 1985 to 1995. Karthik Mahadev initiated his career as an Intern at Cadbury India Limited in 2004. He worked at Cadbury India Limited as a Management Trainee Program (May 2005 - June 2006), ASM (June 2006 - Dec 2007), and Market Dev Manager (Modern Trade) – South (Jan 2008- Dec 2008) respectively for over three years. From Jan 2009 to July 2010, he worked as a National Key Account Manager at Cadbury India Limited in Mumbai. For nine months (Aug 2010 – Apr 2011), he engaged as a Brand Manager (Chocolate) - Cadbury India Limited, and launched a new product TVC targeting the “Youth on the Run.” Then, he worked as a Category Manager (Chocolate) - Cadbury India Limited for around three years.
As a Project Lead and Senior Brand Manager at Mondelez International multinational company, Karthik Mahadev collaborated with AP regional & global category cross-functional experts towards end-to-end product development, design, and launch of a 'new to world' brand - Cadbury Bournvita Biscuits, in India. He developed an integrated marketing campaign (Digital, TV, PR, and E-comm.) to deliver a successful brand launch. From Oct 2016 to April 2017, he worked as a VP of Channel Marketing at Star TV Network in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He led a team of passionate storytellers in marketing movies. He also launched an award-winning premium movies channel, Star Gold SELECT. He led the brand strategy & communication approach to building a multi-sports culture in the country with impactful community initiatives, including the 'Khelo India Youth Games' and 'Khelo India School Games' that encourage society to play more.
Karthik Mahadev led a team of passionate Marketers and Storytellers in the English Channel cluster (Zee Cafe, &Flix, and &PriveHD). He has been working as a Chief Marketing Officer at Zee Entertainment Enterprise Limited in Mumbai since Jan 2019. He leads the marketing function, embedding consumer-centric methods to create exciting & meaningful propositions for our audience, enabling content brand discovery across TV & OTT Original content, and strengthening ground and social connections to build communities. He has more than eighteen years of experience in content, marketing & business delivery involving- content P&L management, content acquisition & monetization, sports marketing, digital growth, brand innovation and high-impact brand campaigns, modern trade account management, and retail sales in FMCG.
