SB Nayampally used to work at the film Killick, Nixon and Company. While working there, he got discovered by the film director P.Y. Altekar. Altekar analyzed Nayampally and, he found him much relatable to the character of the famous French boxer Georges Carpenter. At that time, stunt films were very trendy and, Nayampally was considered a great choice. Altekar urged Nayampally to join Imperial Studios and get cast in his first film, Wedding Night, released in 1929. The first day of the shoot was much exciting and full of amazement for Nayampally. After that Nayampally, became a part of the movie Noorjahan(1931). Noorjahan was to be a silent movie. Because of the success of the first Indian Talkie film Alam Ara(1931), Noorjahan produced sound. He played the character of prince Saleem in the movie Noorjahan.
His next project after Noor Jahan Noor Jahan is a famous Pakistani Urdu television d >> Read More... was Draupadi(1931), where he played the role of Karna. One of the best mythological roles of Nayampally is in the movie Mahatma Vidur(1043) as Shakuni. This role was appreciated by the public very much. Later Nayampally joined Theatres. Nayampally was also good at doing make-up. He was a kind of specialist in doing horror make-up. In many of the movies, he did his make-up by himself. Some of his notable works are Kalkoot( 1935), Jung Bahadur(1935), Pyar Ki Maar(1935), Shadi Ki Raat(1935), Dard E Dil(1934), Maya Jaal(1933), Zearina(1932), and many more. Nayampally also produced a short film named Monkey and the Crocodile(1964) for the Children’s Film Society. His last film appearance was in the movie Priya in the 1970s. Nayampally died in 1994 in Mumbai city.
