Anand Chandra Barua is an actor, writer, poet, playwright, translator, and journalist from Assam. He was born on December 31, 1907, in Moran, Jorhat, Assam. He was awarded the Sahitya Academy Award in 1977 and received the Padmashree in 1970. His wife Promila Devi. He is popularly known as Bokulbonor Kobi by the Assamese Literacy Society.

His famous published books are Porag in 1930, Bijoya in 1932, Hafizor Sur in 1933, Bisorjan in 1933, Ranjan Rashmi in 1934, Puspak in 1934, Nal Damayanty in 1934, Meghdoot Purbamegh in 1940, Komota Kuwori in 1940, and Asiar Jyoti in 1960.

Anand translated many books like Soviet Kabita in 1968, Kumar Sambhav in 1969, Paporir Porimal in 1969, Bokul Bonor Kabita in 1976, Sei Nimati Puware Pora in 1982, Kopoi Kuwari, Nilanjan, Ethan From.
