Mrinal Kalita is a famous writer, incredible novelist and essayist. He was born in Bamundi, Kamrup to Dhirendra Chandra Kalitaand and Kusum Kalita. Mrinal Kalita has been a bright student since childhood, specifically in mathematics. He did his graduation from Cotton College and won the Best Graduate of the Year award. Apart from that, he was also awarded as the best litterateur at Cotton College Gauhati University. In the meantime, he is working at Pandu College, Assam as a mathematician and teaches mathematics. Mrinal Kalita usually writes in the Assamese language.
He has written various short stories, novels and essays. However, he is especially known for his children’s tales and books on mathematics. In the year of 2021, Mrinal Kalita won the Children's Sahitya Akademi Award for one of his novels titled Bakul Phool. Some of his creations are published in magazines and Mrinal Kalita is a regular messenger columnist for an Assamese newspaper Daily Janambhumi. Mrinal Kalita collaborated with Dr Jonali Chowdhury to write a book on maths titled Bornil Jagat of Mathematics. Some of his other creations include NOT A MACHINE.
