Tamil Actress Oviya Latest Stills

Helen Nelson would have never thought that she would make it this big in the Tamil big screen industry. Now a renowned actress, she has become Oviya. She immediately got herself noticed through her first movie, the 2010 witty, Kalavani, which got positive reviews and referred as “a complete entertainer” by TOI reporter Bhamadevi Ravi. Oviya knew from the beginning that cinema was calling her as nine to five jobs never fascinated her.

She has a firm belief that glamor is necessary for an actress, yet she sticks to what the role demands. Before Kalavani came her way, she did a Bachelor of Arts in Functional English from Vimala College in Thrissur, Kerala. She did a few more movies after which she did a cameo in Manmadan Ambu. She also starred in the Kannada and Telugu versions of her debut Kalavani. Jaat was her first step into Bollywood, signed in 2014.

Oviya is shooting for a film in Madurai, titled 144. Not just movies but she has also depicted her skills in the advertisement industry by becoming the representative for SUN Direct DTH in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. Oviya won the Edison Award for the category Female Rising Star for the Tamil movie Kalakalappu. Her fans currently await for the release of her five films, all scheduled to release this year.
