Producer Pt Selvakumar On A Fasting Protest

The renowned producer, director and PRO Pt Selvakumar practiced a fasting protest to safeguard the interests of the Tamil big screen industry. The man was a journalist before joining the movie industry, which is known for some famous works.

At the beginning of the film industry the man had links with the director S. A. Chandrasekhar. The big break for Selvakumar came in the year 2012 when the audience got to hear that Selvakumar had signed four artists to work with him. He selected Nakul, Premji Amaren, Santhanam and Shiva for his first movie. However, the plan was later dropped due to which the film never hit the screens. The movie with the same storyline released in 2012 but with a different cast. Based on the Bradley Cooper starrer The Hangover, Selvakumar made Onbadhula Guru. The movie did not do good and earned negative reviews.

His production Puli, released in 2014 did well at the box-office. Selvakumar started the protest on 23rd March in Chennai. The exact reason for the protest is still unknown. All that can be said now is that the protest intends to safeguard the relevance of the producers of the Tamil film industry. Selvakumar’s previous movie, Pokkiri Raja got mixed analysis.
