Plot
A village in the Nellai district celebrates Sudalai Maadan’s Kodai festival. During this festival, a local artist dies in a mysterious way. The police department closes the case as a suicide. After this incident, the village stops celebrating the festival. Following this, the villagers suffer various issues, and are unable to lead a peaceful life. Murugan, a youngster, decides to sort out the issues and tries to make the people celebrate the kodai vizha. However, his father, who converted to another religion, forces Murugan to convert and pledges the temple property. Murugan denies converting his religion and asks his father to give back the temple property. This leads to a murder, and Murugan is accused of this. What will he do to prove his innocence? Will the festival happen? The rest of the story focuses on this.
Star Performance
Gokul Gowtham should’ve tried to be natural before the camera. His performance is weak. Sharumiishaa is okay with her performance. Suria Narayanan, Supergood Subramani, and N Sripriya have done what was required.
Analysis
Thangapandi has picked a village script for his debut. Though the script is okay, the screenplay moves like a snail. The film has everything that is usually present in the rural movies, in including religion and forced conversion. The dialogues are good. If the protagonist had performed well, it would’ve added weight to the dialogue penned. The songs are okay, and the BGM is decent, too. The visuals are decent, and the editing should’ve been better.
