Pei Kottu is a horror thriller scripted, directed and produced by S Lavanya. Besides these, she performed in dual roles, cranked the camera, composed the music, and edited the film. Plot

Kavya is a reporter. While she goes to Ooty for an important assignment, her car gets stuck. So, she stays in Ooty. Kavya gets a button camera. Soon, in her dream, a spirit repeatedly appears and says it is her camera. The spirit clouts people when they sing a popular song. Soon, Kavya is possessed by the spirit. It is revealed that the spirit, Shruti, was a musician whose music was stolen. Why did Shruti die? What happens to Kavya? Will she escape from Shruti? The rest of the story focuses on these.

Star Performance

Lavanya tried her best in emotional scenes. She appears casual in front of the camera. Deepa, Sreeja, and Shanthi have done their part well.

Analysis

The effort taken by Lavanya in showcasing her talent in all fields in cinema is laudable. However, if she had concentrated only in the screenplay, acting and directing, the film might have delivered a better output. The visuals are dull. The lighting should have been better. The sound effects are not impressive, and the BGM didn’t fit the script. It clearly shows the inexperience. If certain departments had been allocated to experienced people, the quality of the film might have been better.
