Plot
Jackson Briggs was an army officer who returned from the army due to an injury. He wants to join the military again. He was given a task to bring Lulu, the military dog, to attend the funeral of its trainer. Like Briggs, Lulu has post-traumatic stress disorder. Was he able to make a connection with Lulu? Was he able to take Lulu to the funeral? The rest of the story deals with it.
Star Performance
Channing Tatum is good with his natural performance. His chemistry with the dog is incredible. However, it should be noted that a single dog does not play the role of Lulu, but three.
Analysis
Unlike regular pet and road movies, this film carries more emotions. Channing Tatum's directorial debut hyped up the expectations, and the star satisfied the critics and audience with his directorial film in partnership with Reid. Though some sequences are predictable, the way they were filmed is interesting. The screenplay and execution are pretty decent. The cinematography is excellent with wide-angle and aerial shots. The BGM is impressive and travels with the movie's mood.
