The story revolves around Zahid Ahmed's family, consisting of his children and his wife, Shah Jahan. Zahid and Shah Jehan's daughters, Nasreen, Yasmeen, and Afreen. All have a world full of dreams. The family is impoverished and lives in Mehmoodabad, one of the poorest neighborhoods in Karachi.

Afreen is the most beloved by her mother, which makes her other sisters very jealous. Zahid is unemployed and becomes a religious scholar, and he scolds his children for not following Islamic rules.
