The story starts with Rahil and Fariha. They are a young couple who have been married for many years. Rahil works as a salesperson and Fariha is a housewife. Hina, Falak, Zoib, and an infant are the four kids of Rahil and Fariha. They live together with Rahil’s mother and Rahil’s sisters- Mahama and Zara.

Rahil’s father died a long time back, and since then Rahil has taken the financial burden of their house. Rahil’s mother is constantly bickering about her daughter-in-law. She doesn't like her as she did not bring any dowry. Rahil’s sisters are unmarried and studying at university. Rahil’s mother wants them to get married as soon as possible. But Rahil has no money saved for their wedding. The money that Rahil’s father had saved up for his daughter’s marriage is used up by Rahil to complete his studies. Rahil’s mother is disappointed in him. Rahil and Fariha have a very loving relationship. Even though Rahil’s mother tries to provoke them, they are quite happy with their family. Rahil decides to go to London to have a better career. Rahil’s family is saddened and does not want him to go away. But Rahil is determined to earn good money for his family.

Since he does not have money to go to London, he decides to go there illegally. He meets an agent who promises to drop him in London safely. When Rahil leaves, there is no news from him. The agent, Daoud, also has no information about him. Many months pass, and there is no trace of him. Rahil’s family is heartbroken. Years go by without any message from Rahil. Everybody now assumes that he is dead. Fariha has now become despondent and miserable. Her mother-in-law has become merciful towards her. She blames herself for putting pressure on Rahil to earn more. Fahira’s despiritment makes everyone concerned about her. She meets a man, Farhan, who has similar interests as her. Farhan starts liking her.

She marries him and starts living a life with him. She once again becomes a happy person. However, her children are not happy with her decision. Only her youngest daughter lives with her and others decide to stay with their grandparents. One day, suddenly, Rahil comes back home. It is revealed he was working in London all this time and had no way to communicate at his home. He could not come back because his documents were not ready. Rahil feels betrayed to see Fariha married to another man. Fariha on the other hand, is happy that he is alive but furious that he abandoned his family. Rahil still loves his wife and tries to win her back, but Fariha keeps her distance. Fariha’s children hate her for marrying again, not understanding that Rahil’s abandonment has hurt her.
