Firaaq is a Pakistani emotional drama TV serial that aired on HUM TV in 2014. The story deals with a Pakistani family that resides in Florida. The main characters are Paimaan, Imroze, Rumi, Sarah, Shams, and Hareem. Paiman and Shams are siblings and their father passed away at a very young age. Their mother married another man named Haider. When shams becomes old enough to realize the situation he becomes furious and leaves the house. After years Paimaan has become a quiet person who rarely speaks to anyone. She is highly troubled by her mother’s behavior towards her. She is over possessive but her stepfather is a kind person and tries to talk to her.

He tries to help her and tells her to leave this toxic household. Hearing this her mother becomes furious at Haider and accuses him of manipulating her daughter. Meanwhile, Shams has grown to be a mature man and had married a girl called Sarah on the condition that he does not want a baby. Sarah agrees to this condition but soon after marriage demands a baby from him. She goes to visit Shams’s family. Shams visits with her and notices the condition of his sister Paimaan. He decides to take her along with him.
