Dumpukht is a cooking technique where rice or meat is cooked on a low flame in a dough sealed pot. Thus, the story revolves around a love which experiences societal pressure and judgement, also outer heat which in returns create fire which causes destruction. It is an upbeat story about a young girl named Kulsoom, who belongs to a very conservative family of a small village in Pakistan. She lives in a joint family with her parents, a younger brother, chacha, chachi and their daughter and a cousin. She was preparing for her exams and her neighbor (khala) teaches her. Her khala is a divorcee and her son lives with his father since 12. She very much misses her son Bilal. Kulsoom’s family strongly believes in peer saheb, whether to take a family decision or a business decision, they must consult him and his wife.

Khala was always tensed about her son’s well being as he is returning to her. So Kulsoom consults with peer saheb and he gave her a taveez and due to her environment being like that since childhood, she blindly believes him. But on the other hand, her khala doesn’t have faith in all that, so she refuse to getting a taveez. When Bilal comes home, he felt a sudden attraction towards Kulsoom. And she also reciprocates the feeling. This story highlights the orthodox point of view about the norms and traditions of the small village in Pakistan. It also shows the strength of culture and blind faith that families have on their peer saheb. This is an interesting and binge worthy show of only 27 episodes.
